Having an all Action Line arsenal?
« on: July 12, 2006, 02:43:37 PM »
How would having an all Action Line arsenal work?

Heavy: AMAx
Medium/Heavy: Action
Medium/Dry: APacked
Dry: Spare Ball

My biggest concern would be burnout on the Medium/Dry lanes with the APacked.  Tell me what you think.

That would be completely pointless, the action and action packed are meant to be different looks on the same condition, the max is for a little heavier, you really need to consider this in an aresnal

Heavy-High load particle/sanded cover (high end ball)
Medium-Heavy w/ Carrydown- Dull ball
Medium- Whatever you want here, just the easist spot to fill
Light-Medium- Mid performance ball
Light- Entry level ball/ball meant for dry lanes

You can't really take all high end balls and make a usefull arsenal land you really don't even need an arsenal unless you goto tournaments and things outside of just league and open bowing.

DonnyDeutch,

How about clarifying your statements by giving some examples of how Storm would be better. Your profile says you use mostly Brunswick, so how would you even know one way or the other?  In my opinion, every company has some good balls and some not so good. It all depends on personal taste. The guy's question referred to the Action line.

Noy,

The Action line would do ok for a versatile arsenal. Your'e better off with some less aggressive stuff for dry but the AP could be highly polished and drilled in such a way to combat drier conditions.

My arsenal would be the following:

Heavy - Action Max or EPX
Med/Heavy - Action Max (polished) or Action
Medium - Wrath XP, Bully, UTPP
Medium/Dry - Wrath, U-Turn
Dry - Jinx or Beast

all action is impossible, the AP is stronger than my ultimate inferno, and teh inferno is drilled pin under ring cg out, the AP is rico1. and storm better!? yea right, cuz they have like 2 decent balls out right now...

This is a natural response to someone trolling in another ball company's forum, but come on.  Have you actually used the ones they have out now?  Like 2 decent balls?  Which would those 'like two' be I wonder?

hmm, good point i cant honestly think of any, ive tryed, not drilled for me but they fit, most the current line. the paradigm wasnt bad, i didint like the fire line at all, i never got the x facotor line to work for me(too jumpy) tried the dark thunder and the tropical storm and i dont like the lack of drive(for me anyways) and that leaves me with one that i like. so i guess i over estimated them? for my game atleast. and the great thing is, this is completley acceptable, because im the only one that matters right? according to the fool that posted this company is better than that one ect. he is only going off his game so im going off of mine. thats fair right? yea thats it, personally brunswick and morich roll great for me, thats just the way it happens to be, but im not going into the ebonite forum and telling someone who want a layout for there big one to get a scorchin or a total shock and awe because those companies are better. thats what i think anyways and i belive its a logical opinion.

I think it is possible to build an arsenal from the action line, but the question would be WHY?  Instead of making a ball fit a specific condition (such as adjusting the surface and layout of an AP to try and cover medium/dry lanes...and I'm still not convinced it would work as I think it is WAY to strong), why not just buy a ball designed for that condition?  If I were building a "league" arsenal exclusively from current line Columbia (I would probably mix in a little track and/or amf to change it up a little), it would look something like this:

Heavy: Action Max
Medium/Heavy: Action Packed
Medium: Wrath
Light: Jynx
Spares: WD

I think this would cover the conditions better than an "All-Action" lineup and cost less...

Noy...

Throw a Desert Heat between the AP and your spare ball.  You'll be fine.

OFT but Storm is looking decent this year.  The Agent is a real success so far and the Thunderstruck solid is a very good ball for many looks.  The paradigm has had its success and the double agent is also showing to be very decent.  Im not die hard to any company but they are looking good for this upcoming year.
