Action Max= Good heavy oil ball?
« on: July 22, 2006, 05:04:12 PM »
Is it? If not what would be a good heavy oil ball...I'm also looking at the Scorchin' Inferno and a Lane#1 SCB, but the action series caught my eye...

word. yeah - my buddy, Josh Adkins, is amatuer staff on columbia, so he got a few of them, and he let me have one. NIB - drilled it up, pin over bridge, cg kicked out, MB located on val.

good ball, loved the reaction.. it was in heavy oil, fresh off the oil machine..

threw 7 in a row, same line, threw the 8th, and me hitting the same mark and the less oil it took, the ball slowly burnt up..

i would suggest probably getting it on new oil, or cleaning it after every game, because i shot a 211 first game, which is not bad by all means, but it burning up that quick in 7 frames, i gave it back to him..

I too am worried.  I wanted to get the MAX as a heavy oil ball, but if that thing is dying in half a game, then I think I'll just go with the mean machine instead.

Don't confuse the ball dying with the ball just burning up energy. This ball OOB is strong, probably too strong for a THS bowler who like to play up 10. Take the ball up in grit or add some polish and this ball will not disappoint.

Plus how can anyone expect to be able to play the "Same Mark, Same Line" for an entire game. ADJUST!!!! MOVE LEFT!!!

This cover is way to stong to bang the 10 board all day long.  Unless you are a speed dominate player.  Then even still you'll have to move in to catch some of the oil.  I've been using mine for the past month and it still hits as hard as the day I took it out of the box.  To say that it dies after 7 strikes is a little hard to believe?  I'm sure I'll be calling Josh to talk to him about it.

like someone else said, youre using a strong ball, your playing the same shot, you will have to move! the cover rolls in oil, not pop off the dry, so when you break your line down, espically when you say it gradually stopped shot to shot then move!

you guys are correct.  you have to move left.
i through the first 6 and the 7th was kinda flat.
didnt go for the spare just through the same shot
to see what would happen.  flat again.  moved
left and hit same mark.  she was swinging and
flying back.  mine is drilled pin 1" over ring
cg kicked right.  she does like the oil
