Has anyone thrown both of these balls. I am curious to see how they match up together.

any help

I have thrown both and for me the power drive sanded is a much better ball.. The Action hooked way to early for me and sometimes rolled out causing aweful carry. The PDS hooks farther down the lane and so far the carry is excellent as well..
For the money, the PDS is a great ball..

jkiser01, how do you have two ball layed out. I have two of the Action's and really thinking about moving them for the PDS. I have one that is at 1000 grit and the other at 1000 and polished.

I had both layed out pretty similar. Pin above the ring and cg stacked under both with no weight hole. The pin on the PDS I have was a bit longer thus about 1/2 inch higher above the ring.
I think you will like the PDS really well, plus I like the fact that the PDS is vaccine particle and the action is m80 (reactive).. I am a firm believer particle covers are better for oilier conditions..

I sent you a private message about the PDS..

Big Columbia -- Just curious. Why are you trying to move both of your Actions for the PDS?

Got a Action drilled stacked leverage... it sets up in heavy oil alot sooner than all of my oil balls, and finishes well, carrying very good.. its has a strong back end reaction..
threw my homies PDS.. drilled same.. and it skidded a little further and turned strong, but it does not read as well... not does it carry the flush ringers well...
Action alot better.. its columbias best oil ball in years.

I've had three Action, two now. The ball reacts way too early for me. I have come to the conclusion that this ball just doesnt fit me well.

I have thrown both, with the Power Drive Sanded actually a more predictable move. Dilled both with pin and cg kicked out, couldn't really get a good read on the Action.
Power Drive Sanded is easy to control, and doesn't flip at all.
Was chatting with Brian Alpert, on Thursday and he suggested that I put a little shine on it, so I will try that. Will let you know how it goes

PUT A 2000 ABRALON FINISH ON IT... AND TRY IT.. YOU WILL BE AMAZED HOW MUCH MORE LENGTH AND CONTROL U GET

The Action balls are great pieces. I had two but revamped some stuff and kept my favorite one - it is a 3½ pin from axis, pin under, CG is 75 degrees, and weight hole past the VAL. The ball really digs in and makes a strong controllable move. The ball motion is fantastic, the way it rolls with this layout. This is 1200 grit OOB condition.
