Need Ball Information and Recommendation
« on: January 24, 2005, 04:04:29 PM »
I recently purchased 3 balls at a swap meet and would appreciate information and recommendations on each. Columbia 300 Classic Rock TEC2, Columbia Scout/R Particle and a Storm Flame Bluish/Green in color. None of the 3 have a track and are in excellent condition.

I bowl at a Brunswick center with synthetic lanes with standard house shot and bowl only in a couple of leagues. I currently use a Track Stomp and a Storm El Nino Wrath which are about 4 years old. I am 67 and have carried around a 198 average for the past few years. I am a stroker; so with the above information can anyone comment on the below questions?

Do any of the 3 balls I just purchased warrant spending the $25. per ball for new inserts, plugging and redrilling the thumb? Are any or all suitable for todays lane conditions? Do any or all fill any gaps in the 2 balls I now use?

The reason for my question on this thread is that a local pro-shop has indicated that it would be a waste of money on these balls and that I should purchase a new ball (from them) however I would like more than this oponion. All comments and information appreciated.

Jeff,
Thanks for your info and imput, you have definitely given me what I was looking for.
I was beginning to think that I had asked unanswerable questions as no other replies.
