help with Columbia line
« on: January 19, 2010, 01:40:00 AM »
OK guys be easy on a newbie here. I posted this over on the roto-grip board about the nomad but the wife really likes her freeze also, so here goes. I'm just getting back into the game after New Years eve and 8 years. The wife has  a pin slasher she really loves but with them doing away with it was wondering which ball in the line matches up close. She really likes the smoothness of the ball drilled pin down and the cg kicked out some with a lower weight hole.  I know we can buy another P/S but might try something newer, she bowls on a 38 to 40 foot wood lane shot with a small swing from 17 to about 7 or 8. Anything inside of that she really doesn't like, speed is around 15 to 16 and comes around the side of the ball some.
P.S read about a solid freeze might be coming out that sounds really good right now  thanks for the replys

If you're looking for something similar to the Pin Slasher within the Columbia line, you probably can't go wrong with the Cool Noize.  It'll be a little weaker overall, but has a medium strength core, with a decently strong cover.  It is a solid so will still be nice and smoooth.
If she likes the Ebonite line, and wants something to compliment the Pin Slasher take a look at the Lanebreaker.  Same line, redesigned core, slightly weaker cover.  Comes polished but put a little surface on it, and it might be just want she's looking for.  Even polished it reads the midlane very well, as it has a little bit lower RG and slightly higher diff, getting it to rev up a bit quicker.
Hope this helps

If you could locate a Resurgence or a Wrath they would be the closest they stopped making the resurgence last year but some pro shops might have them left over or there might be some on Ebay the Wrath will be harder to find however.
