Alright. I am apparently being recruited by a Columbia sponsored school (very exciting!). This means I can no longer throw Brunswick when I get to college. :( We are allowed to throw ANY Columbia ball ever made. I'm wanting to know what is the biggest hooking ball ever made by Columbia. I was thinking Full Swing at first, then Pure Physics. It'll be a little while before then so we give Columbia time to make some VERY strong equipment, but I just want ideas. Thanks.

Even pre Ebonite? That would be SUPER SWEET if that's true.
-
Personally I have never thrown one, but I would think the EPX T1 or A1 would have to be that ball.

It might not be the biggest hooking ball they ever made, but my World Beater hooks plenty.
-
According to btm the ransom demand, action max both have total hook rating of 55. Earlier rolling balls were the world beater, pure physics.
-
I have a pin up Pure Physics, and it's plenty of ball. It really comes alive on oil and long patterns.
Pure Physics at 1000 is going to give you what you need, in most cases.
-
Ransom Demand. Takes cover changes very well also!
-
The Ransom Demand and Pure Physics are 2 hook monsters that they have released in the past few years. However, the Wicked Encounter that is now coming out appears to potentially have those beat in overall hook.
-
The Resurgence.
Was the best and most versatile transitioning ball ever made. However, that doesnt sound right. You can get any ball in the current lineup, thats about it. Trust me your school is not important enough for them to re-release or make a ball just for however many bowlers you have on your team. If that was the case Chris Barnes, whom they have under contract $1 MILLION dollar contract, would have all theyre great older releases. Guess you will have to give up that wild card you've been hyping.
On a better note, why do you want the most hook? In college bowling, you will rarely see the oil for anything with a gigantic block and strong cover unless you are a country hard baller. A benchmark columbia ball and a decent layout is all you'll need.

Yeah. I did throw the Wicked Encounter at the Demo Day, and it is more of a skid/flip ball that just "flips" REALLY hard. I do like early rolling balls though. The energy is more even, and easier to control. That's why I was considering the Pure Physics.

They told me that anything with the Columbia 300 stamp on it can be thrown.
I'm thinking Pure Physics as of now. Now I need some more help here. You see my current arsenal in my sig. I'm not as big of a Columbia fan as Brunswick, so could you match each ball in my sig with something similar in Columbia? Thanks you guys. Big help.

I mean buy a ball second-hand. Not remake it. lol I did that with half of my arsenal as of now. As for the large hooking ball, I know my Nexxus is one of the biggest hooking balls on the market now (2nd I believe). I just want some equivalents to match my current arsenal. And not necessarily with the rarely see enough oil. It's just my style demands that I use a strong ball on flat conditions. Thanks for the response.
EDIT: Oh, I understand what you mean. You are allowed to use any Columbia ball ever made as long as you own it. i.e: many bowlers on Wichita State use the Wild Card. :) My full arsenal could be simply balls released earlier if I wanted it that way, as long as they all say Columbia 300 on them.

Alright, do you have your stats because i can give you the matchups and a layouts.

They have probably changed since the last time I've had them taken. I'll give them to you soon. Thanks.

Ok if you can, send me pics of what you have, tilt, pap, maybe a vid of you throwing a ball, and ill compare and contrast for you with what you have and what i see that you can replace it with. Hit me up in the inbox.

When you go to school, your coach will review your game and try to match you up with ball and layout. Also, he/she will try to improve you on everything, timing, release and being more consistant. Trust your coach, they know the equipment and the patterns you will be bowling on.
Remember, the game you have today might not be the game you have after some coaching.

pure physics, violent eruption,freeze,white dot. that's pretty complimentary to what your Brunswick lineup is right now. also the benchmark is a nice rock. according to btm the wicked encounter is the biggest hooking col 300 ball out right now.
-
Brunswick NeXXus f(P+R) -> Dark Encounter/Wicked Encounter.
Brunswick Wild Card -> Oath
Hammer Midnight Vibe -> Freeze Hybrid
Brunswick TZone (Spare Ball) -> WD
But i belive you would be better of with a Oath, Violent Eruption and a Freeze Hybrid.. This should cover most unless dirt dry or super heavy oil.

Don't skip on the Wicked Encounter, all of the staff guys Ive talked to rave about this ball.
