Columbia 300 Tyrant Pearl video review by Average Joe Reviews

Hello guys! Here we are with another review. this time we were lucky enough to get the new Columbia 300 release, the Tyrant Pearl.

The Columbia 300 Tyrant Pearl is the second ball to use the HyperSHOCK additive not only in the filler material, but also in the coverstock. This ball uses a pearlized version of the Reflex HST cover that was used on the original Tyrant and it comes out of the box with a polished finish.

The Tyrant Pearl offered our tester a great reaction on our THS. (Our house shot has a heavy volume of oil in the heads and the length is 41 ft.) The ball is clean through the heads and as soon as it hits the friction at the end of the lane, the ball makes an aggressive turn to the pocket, not exactly a skid flip kind of motion, but a strong, angular motion.

The ball provided our tester a lot of recovery when he missed outside, and surprisingly the ball had some traction through the oil when he missed inside, making it a great option for walled house shots, since he had a lot of margin of error.

Our tester tried the Tyrant Pearl on a sport shot and he had some troubles when the ball found some friction, making it a little hard to control, however, when he changed the surface with a 2000 pad, the ball became smoother and more controllable. Balls like the original Tyrant worked better for him while bowling on fresh on sport shots patterns, where you have to control the breakpoint. When he had to open up his angles, the Tyrant Pearl was money for him, allowing him to jump right and throw left, the ball just kept coming back to the pocket.

The Tyrant Pearl is a great complement to the original Tyrant. The Tyrant Pearl is a great ball to open up the lane and play steeper angles. If you like a bowling ball that goes long and a has strong backend motion, the Tyrant Pearl is be the ball for you.

Thank you for watching!
