Dulling a Wired
« on: November 14, 2004, 05:58:47 PM »
I know by now this ball is ancient but Ive got one NIB in my closet just sitting there.  but I don't think I have anywhere in my new arsonel to fit it in.  I was wondering that if I dulled it down to maybe 1500 grit smooth I could fit it in between a Track Animal and a Visionary G-3 Gryphon?  It kind of bugs me that in my entire arsonel I will only have one dull ball and that would be my heavy oil ball.  I figure I might be able to get this ball to work on medium-heavy lanes with a little bit of carry down if I dull it.  What do you all think?

Shiny that ball could handle medium to slightly more than medium.

Local guy uses his so much that it is duller.  Balls head towards 800 if used and not resurfaced just due to friction.

I think he had about 15 800 with its so far.  In about almost 2 years!

A lot of medium to medium heavy.  He seems to like it!

so what about with a little bit of carrydown.  should I maybe drill it to where it rolls up just a tad earlier so that it doesn't just hit the carrydown and slide forever?  this may actually end up being my house shot ball so it wouldn't really matter but just in case...  how should I drill it.  and i'm not really a whole lot into drilling terminology so if you could explain what so and so drilling would do and all that junk it would be appreciated .  if not thats fine too, I'll figure it out .

He put this 3 inch pin out ball pin dead under ring finger and cg dead straight stacked under it!

He has a lot of revs(450) and a lot of speed about 18 at pin deck!

REgards,

LUckylefty
PS this ball is sort of like the Crunch a lot of early rev then a dive to the pocket!
