Greetings Folks,
For those of you that threw both of these balls what difference is there if any?
I ask because some friends were saying that there is a difference between colors on a ball cover which would mean a different ball reaction...so I thought I would ask!

It is exactly the same Ball - just different color
-
From people that I have thrown this ball and the orange one, I have heard that the black one is a few boards stronger.
-
I do have one of each of these, both drilled the same. For me the Pro Black is about 1-2 boards stronger, with a little different shape down lane. Basically a little cleaner in the middle of the lane, just a touch stronger off the dry, and a little stronger through the pins. Very small differences but for sure, there are differences.
Both are excellent balls though, as my Eruption Pro orange has been my go to league ball since it came out.
Hope this helps, if you have any other questions just let me know.

Ha, ha! Here we go again! You know we had this ball color discussion back in the nineties!! (showing my age) And we decided that there were indeed some differences of note. The brighter the color, .....your oranges, yellows, white, pale blues, silver, etc. the longer the balls tend to go.
The darker your colors,..... black, dark blue, dark purple, dark green, etc. the more your balls tend to hook.
Red was established as the ultimate, middle of the road, benchmark ball.
Just my two cents.

Comes from particle size of certain pigments. I was in the ink business and learned about it. And yes red is the hardest color to make and keep consistent because it has the largest particle size. This earlier read. Lol

Thanks group!

I have both, but they're drilled different and it's hard to do a direct comparison.
But my sense is that the color on the EP's makes little if any perceptable difference in reaction. They both react strong off the spot when they sniff out friction. I wouldn't make reaction the deciding factor in picking which color to drill.

I have the orange e-pro pin over bridge which is about 5-1/8 from pap and i am waiting to get my black e-pro. I was thinking of either going stacked with the pin above and right of ring and cg straight down to be like a 4 x 4 or going rico. What do you guys think? Something to have a little earlier but still have kick.

According to ball designer Ronald Hickland the EP Black is three boards stronger than the EP Orange. My reference is a post that Ron Hickland made on Facebook recently.
