How close is the new Eruption Pro to the Violent Eruption? Would these be a good two ball combo (for medium to dryer) with different layouts and surfaces?
Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing. However, having a Violent; I am not sure it would be worth having both unless the layouts were significantly different. EX: One with a 5 inch pin to PAP and the other 2 inch pin to PAP. The Violent should start up a tad sooner since it is a lower RG core. I would think that if we were talking Mass Eruption and E-Pro, then it would make more sense to have both. With the Violent and E-Pro, it would take a significantly different layout and surface prep to warrant having both I believe. Having the Violent myself has really made me hesitate getting a Pro.

Violent Eruption is a Pearl cover.
Eruption Pro is a Solid. And the Pro has a slight modified Resurgence core.
Pro
Minimum RG 2.500
Maximum RG 2.536
Total Differental 0.036
Violent
Minimum RG 2.460
Total Differental 0.040

Violent is a nice ball, but the Pro is far better in my opinion. The cover seems stronger, i see more midlane and less hockeystick reaction. I can use mine on the fresh on anything between 38 and 43 with a very good look. The Violent is a step down, it is longer and stronger.

The difference for me is the Violent could get a bit squirty on the fresh oil where as the Eruption Pro does not. Pretty much just the effect of the pearl vs the solid coverstock
