I sadly need to replace my benchmark ball
« on: July 08, 2016, 10:19:47 PM »
I lost my best friend today: the Messenger Ti BG Pearl otherwise known as " Ms Ti". Ironically, I got it out to prepare for a tournament this weekend I'm bowling in and it saddens me that it has given up the ghost (cracked). I shot my highest series and single game with this ball. It was my benchmark ball: that ball that never went any place then where I put it. And when I missed target, it was forgiving. It felt good in my hand and rolled clean down the lane. Rest in peace Ms Ti, no ball I'll ever own will roll like you!

Now with that said, does any one have a suggestion of a ball for medium to dry lanes that makes an early move to the pocket, stays true and rolls smooth like Ms Ti for a tweener with medium to high ball speed?   :(
. . .this ball, this frame, this moment.

Do you mean this Messenger:

If so, then this ball, the 900Global Drift, seems to fit what you're looking for both in specs and in performance and oil handling.

You may not be familiar with 900 Global, but they basically took up where the old Columbia 300 people left off. They're even down in the same plant in San Antonio. The new Columbia is now owned by Ebonite. 900G now works closely with Storm.

There are also other balls on the market you could look at.  You could do something like a Deep Freeze (if your pro shop still has one) or Nitrous if you want to stay Columbia or a Rhino by Brunswick or even a Ride by Storm. Compared to the Messenger Ti; covers will be stronger since that Messenger came out 15 years ago.  But if you go with a little weaker core numbers wise; they should cancel each other out somewhat.  I have a Deep Freeze and even with it polished; it is super smooth on the backend because it flares so little (I also have a 500+ rev rate) but still has enough hook to kick the corners out when playing straighter.

Personally, I would look at the Night Hawk SE since F55 is basically Superflex and the earlier motion of it might be close since titanium is no longer allowed to be used.
