Well it will start to lose backend reaction and start to hook up a little earlyer and then when alot of oil and dirt work its way onto the cover and into the cover you will start to lose reaction completly. So yes clean it after you bowl and then give it a little polish after a few games im saying like after 10+ games for the repolishing of it. I do it that way and I get a consistant reaction.

Black Magic and Black Magic XL is the best stuff out as of right now.

Black Magic - polishes the ball well, keeps the reaction the same.

Black Magic XL - does the above, but adds 3-4 more feet of length with a more violent backend. (i personally use this)

I throw it all, just give me a ball, I'll throw it. =]

The 2000 degree polish from columbia is almost the same as magic shine. The black magic stuff makes it skid a little to much. I use tracks magic shine, on my stuff and I have no problem with keeping the reaction. I would say use eather tracks magic shine or c300 2000 degree, eather one will do the job just fine.

Brian,

Don't be afraid to try more than one.  What works for Scoot might not work for you and vice versa.  One time try one, then another.  Black Magic, Track, C300, and others all make great polishes...Give 'em a shot...

This is exactly the reason why I feel that polished balls should be sanded and polished again in a step by step method BEFORE drilling.  Trying to duplicate "factory finish" can be difficult.  Simply pick a polish (they are all pretty decent) and go to town on the ball before you drill it.  This makes achieving a consistant surface much easier when the time does come to resurface or just to add a coat of polish.

Brian,

Most proshops have them in smaller packages for retail.  Usually in either 4 or 8 oz. variety...

Hope this helps,
