Why isn't this in the Columbia forum?
« on: September 13, 2006, 06:36:03 AM »

First of all, how many have heard about concerns with the Action, Action Packed, or Action Max?  I haven't spanned the globe to gather data, but the Action series has been wildly successful with both performance and reliability.  Second, please, enough about the EPX already.  It's been a rough ride for Columbia, and their customer service regarding this matter has been nothing short of professional and courteous.  Instead of spouting unsubstantiated rumors about a ball while you're considering purchasing one in the reviews forum, why not sift through the individual ball company forums and try to get an informed opinion?

Lol...you're so right. Some people just don't get it no matter how many times information is readily available for them.

In my opinion, it just shows how these forums can perpetuate incorrect info  just as often as invaluable info can be given out. I haven't heard or even seen on this forum any bad reviews for the Action. This person must not read through the Columbia forums very often.

As far as the EPX goes, some people loved it, some hated it. New technology always has its kinks to work out. Columbia has done its best to rectify the situation. The only mistake Columbia made was to hype up the ball too much in the beginning.

The Action series has been a winner as far as I'm concerned, comparing itself to the high performance line of any other company.

Some people take this site too literally. My advice is always talk to your local Pro Shop before purchasing a ball or consult a local PBA player.

If someone is going to wait to hear good things about a ball on this site before considering a purchase, they may be waiting a long time. There are many great balls that don't get reviewed often and that's a fact.

Also it would make too much sense! What you expect someone to do research on buying a ball?

Hey guys, I apologize if that is incorrect.  I got that by word of mouth from a guy in my league who had one, and also from things posted on other web sites.  I do not own an Action.

If the review can be taken down, by all means do it, or tell me how to do it or who to contact myself to have it done.

And by the way, I very much resent the comment that I didn't do any research.  I research all the balls I buy thoroughly before I by anything.  But consider that my sources are the manufacturer's website where they will never tell you about a problem, bowling magazines that are sponsored by the ball manufacturers (seen one negative review lately?) and websites like this one where about 90% or so of the people who review any given ball claim to have bowled a 300 with it.

So yes, I take everything with a grain of salt, and tend to believe more of what people I know in real life tell me.  I will not post another review of this or any other ball I don't own personally again.

I have removed the review.  Its not there now.

Again, I apologize.

But for the record, I do spend alot of time reading about these things and if I thought there was a problem, its a very good bet that other people do, too.

wible, there are a host of folks around here that are going to provide information to you regarding any of a number of topics.  Some of the info is biased, some is spot on, some is flat out wrong.  Hopefully, time will help you determine which people are trying to assist you or trick you.
