What would this ball be similar to in the Ebonite line?

None. The Ebonite specific brand doesn't have anything out that would be fairly similar to the Impulse. The Mission Unknown is way more on the backend and I don't think any balls from the Game Breaker series are particularly close.

As a Columbia 300 ball the Impulse practically is Ebonite though. Don't overthink it.

Thanks for the reply.  When you say nothing in the Game Breaker series is close, do you mean that the Impulse is stronger?

It's more of the shape of the motions that's different. In terms of strength I doubt there's too much of a difference between the Impulse, Game Breaker 2 Phenom, and Game Breaker 2 Phenom Pearl. They should all be able to handle around the same amount of oil.

From what I've seen the Impulse is cleaner and a bit more off the spot than the Game Breakers. The latter has that signature round, strong arcing roll that makes that line really popular. The Impulse is probably in between the Mission Unknown and Game Breaker balls in terms of motion.

Thanks again.  One more question, would it be weaker than a Warrior or Warrior Elite?  Could it fit between the Warrior's and say a Game Breaker MVP or a Game Breaker?  What I'm looking for is something to handle a medium to medium heavy condition but not be too much skid/snappy.

Yeah, I would definitely put the Impulse below the Warrior and Warrior Elite especially. Should go between those and a Game Breaker 2 as well although I'm not sure just how far above it would be. Could lean more towards pretty close, although if it's the MVP in particular I think there would be enough separation.

Thanks again.  The reason I asked about the Elite is because I have one.  Changed the surface to 4000 and it's still very strong for the oil I run into.  I'm think the Impulse or the Game Breaker might be close to what I'm looking for.

I definitely agree with CoreZero. I think the Impulse has been overlooked because of the Gamebreakers and higher end releases.

To me, the Impulse compares the most to the Hammer Phobia and Rebel. Hammer seems to have more marketing for their whole line while Columbia's marketing focus seems to be just on the high end Swerves/Tyrants

Yeah, Columbia 300 is probably the least marketed of the major brands. The Tyrant is about the most pushed ball I've seen from them in a long time... and a couple months later here comes the Gauntlet and Mako from other EBI brands so now it's back to nothing.

Ebonite isn't much better. I don't get it. The people at EBI have to know about the discrepancy, and good marketing is vital. Especially with all of the balls getting released these days.

Anyways, yeah I think the Impulse would probably be a nice step down from the Warrior Elite. The latter is a really strong ball so I wouldn't worry about too much overlap.

Recently went to a ball trial.

The impulse was great on our lower volume house shot that has a bit of length lately!

Don't fool yourself on the strength of this core.  I don't often use successfully.  Straight up over the bridge!  I've seen stronger drilled sales from the ball trial which are over the top in strength compared to the pin over bridge version.

The hit was also big time compared to other balls of similar build so to spesk.

I believe the hypershock technology does supply some extra punch on the pins!

All in all it compared very favorably to another Ebo product in this previously unsolvable super wet dry house!
