U Turn Particle Pearl
« on: March 27, 2006, 07:19:05 AM »
Here's a ball that just doesn't act like a particle, I mean it gets too far down the lane to be a particle ball.
Pin under ring finger and CG kicked out, I was expecting this thing to get up early and go, but it doesn't want ot do that. It wants to store it's power for later.
I've got enough of those balls, I was hoping for something for something different.

In my bag:
Columbia Power Drive Sanded:
Power Drive:
Action Packed:
and of course the 10 pin killer WD

Try taking the initial out-of-box shine off the ball. Mine was a bit weak too , but once I used it for a good number of games and burnt off the shine, it rolls much stronger.

Wow, I must say that I find this post to be a bit disappointing since I was strongly considering purchasing one.  Looking at the core RG and Diff numbers coupled with the particle pearl cover, I too was expecting a ball with a big midlane and strong but continuous backend.  If it's just another skid/flip piece for medium oil, then I'll just buy an Action Packed.

The reason the ball skids futher then you want is because it is a pearl. When you get a pearl reactive it skids further then any other reactive. Now when you get a pearl partcile it will react like a weakly drilled strong reactive. Think of it like this. If you take a action and drill it pin over middle and cg stable, and you take a uturn pearl and drill it with pin under cg kicked out it will react more like the action drilled with the above drilling. Rather then it starting up and early rolling like a normal particle. You can sand it down but you are taking away from what the ball was made for. It is made for people who like the arc a particle ball gives but want it for medium oil condidtions. Now if you wanted the uturn for oil you should have gotten the normal particle. When ever any ball is pearled it will want to go longer no matter what the cover is. Look at the action and action packed. The packed is a pearl type version. Hope that helps.

I love my UTPP.. It does exactly what its supposed to do for me.. Its goes long and hooks and its a great carrying ball as well..

I highly recommend this ball for anyone looking for a particle pearl ball..

I guess it all depends on your arsenal, but for me the UTPP is a great compliment to the Action Packed.  Being a little longer and smoother off the dry, it's a nice step down from my AP.  I was actually thinking of drilling another one without a hole because I like the first one so much.

very interesting mine is super strong with the pin above the ring about 5.5 inches from my PAP and CG is 5" from PAP, it was so strong in fact, I had to polish it and use some delayed reaction..... What is your span and PAP?
