Energizer is more of a regular-use cleaner, for use after each set.  Clean and Dull is a deep cleaner, more appropriate for once-a-month serious cleaning.

Why would you limit C&D to once a month? The extra junk C&D picks up beyond Energizer after just one set is significant....

Maybe Energizer can't stand up to Legends' cleaner.    I use Legends' cleaner after each set and I get very little extra out of the ball when I use C&D.

Makes sense. I've never use the Legends' cleaner, but have heard good things about it. Energizer cleaner on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired...

Besides what shelley said, no cleaner makes a ball hook more. It may clean enough junk off the ball to make it hook more like it was new.

Clean and Dull is not just for dull balls but is best for dull balls because they, in general, absorb oil more quickly than polished balls AND are used on more oil than polished balls, in general.

Legends ball cleaner is, also in my opinion, as well as shelley's, a much better cleaner than Energizer cleaner, a citrus based cleaner. While it won't extract oil, like Clean and Dull is designed to do, it will clean every bit of oil off the surface. (While C&D seems ot extract a slight bit of oil but just barely beneath the surface, it will not replace an essential rejuvenation (oil or plasticizer extraction that is needed every 60 - 100 games for dull balls.)

I used Lane Concepts Extreme Clean, and Lane Concepts Extreme Dull.

And while cleaning my bowling balls with these products, I don't have to wear a gas mask to protect me from the smell. And if you use Legends,  you know all about the smell.

charlest pretty much hit it right on the head here.

Clean N Dull is best for dull balls or any bowling ball that absorbs a significant amount of oil and Energizer is more of a clean the dirt and grime off of the surface cleaner.
