Title: New Columbia Eruption Pro
Post by: chrisleftwich on October 08, 2013, 12:26:53 PM
Has been posted on the website.  Below is a link for this ball, looks to a cleaner ball than the Distruption.  I will post a review once the staff balls are received.

Looks like they stole the Recon RX1 cover or maybe they're going back to the Messenger pearl Flame, bright orange? I think the Solar Flare looks like the Violent Eruption. lol They know people like bright colors especially us older guys so we can see our ball. lol

well you do know that Columbia also had the all orange Pirahna, so do not think that they stole the color of the recon.

Bright colors are sellers right now, so I like the new look.

Good lord... Someone tell Scott he can't throw that ball wearing pants that color.

But if he threw it, Rhino Page would blend in completely, from shirt to pants to ball.

The trend I saw was contrast starting with the virtual gravity...that orange/black/blue combo that really caught peoples eyes...now that has been the standard for a few years now ..dv8 perfects this now..

NOW it seems we are still going bright, but one color...misfit neon yellow, track 400 a, eruption pro...

Thats what I see...

everything goes in cycles, think about it the Bone XS was white and the Pirahna was solid orand.  Now we have a Columbia all Orange ball and a track all white ball.

I like the bright colors, but at the sametime I have always liked all black also...

Does Columbia write into everyone's contract that they have to wear pants like Guppy Troup now? :P

I have had a chance to throw this piece
It seems to be a modified version of the low flare core.
Its very predictable and continuous, nice and clean up front, no noticeable over/under what-so-ever
I have this pin down just like my disruption to do a good comparison
Disruption is stronger off the spot
the movement is slower and longer, very continuous through the pins

I finally got to throw this ball today and all I can say is WOW!! This ball is very clean through the front part of the lane but doesn't go sideways like the disruption did for me. Anyone looking for a ball to use when the pattern gets a little beat up this is it! This ball doesn't stop rolling through the pins. Very continuous on the backend without getting over under. This is.one of my favorites

Drilled one up last night and I can tell you that the ball glides through the heads with ease.  I bowl at a house with olf lane shield and the fronts burn up really fast.
Ball covers a lot of boards in the backend, but for me it was not a uncontrollable snap but a nice controlled move.

Seeing this #emergencyorange gem roll down the lanes has turned quite a few heads. I drilled my new Eruption Pro stacked with my pin about 1 1/2" away from my ring finger. WHOA BABY, this ball gets down the lane for me and makes a vicious cut to the pocket, leaving nothing but destruction behind. I was a big fan of the original Eruption and this ball is very similiar in my opinion. I get some major pop on the backend which i did lack on my original Eruption. The Eruption Pro worked best for me when the lanes broke down and there was a lot of over/under. I was able to play the lanes at my comfort level without having to make the big move left with my other C300 equipment.

PROS
Great length and vicious backend

CONS
Might be blind other bowlers who watch it going down the lane  8)

The Eruption Pro will be available in all your local pro shops on Nov 5. This ball is a must add to anyones arsenal and you will not be dissappointed.

Congrats to EBI Ron Hickland for tossing an 806 series Friday night with this ball.
what an awesome rolling piece.
the motion is so predictable and does it ever carry.
Great new piece by Columbia
