Columbia on wet/dry
« on: February 25, 2005, 04:19:18 PM »
I need a ball for wet dry. Columbia is perferable, any other brand is just as good.  For those of you who recognizes my screen name, it's royce.  Those of you who don't, here's my game break down:

lefty,
speed's not too fast,
stroker,
PAP 5 1/4 out, 1/2 up.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Probably something mild. I'd pick a Super Trooper drilled to arc. That should be good for you. Good luck.

Depends on how "wet" the wet part is of your wet/dry condition.  I would probably look into the new OverDrive. Heavy-rolling type asymmetrical weight-block with a fine finished moderately aggressive cover.  That should give you something to read the oilier part of the lane and roll-out off the dry instead of jerking.  Hope this helps.

I would not go with anythign thats made of super flex. If it has a perilized super flex cover, as soon as it hits a dry spot it will take off.

There is a guy on this site with similar stats and a terrible wet dry problem.

His name is luckylefty.

He has a friend named Hyde... MS. Hyde has solved his problem.  She's smooth, yet powerful.  Drilled over the bridge almost stacked.

What a wallop she packs when she wants to get to you!

I bowl at a house that has extreme wet dry and short oil to boot. Also, a carrydown problem as they only strip once a week and I doubt if it is even that often.  This shot is very tough I am 14 pins lower(202) in this house, but I am coming back up.  I get my best look playing 15 to 10 using a breakpoint at about 40 ft.  I use a particle AMF fusion drilled pin under ring ,mb next to and right of thumb, weak smooth drill for this high tracker.  I sand to 400 grit, apply 3 coats of doc's elixir and polish.  I am getting great reaction, and some room for error, no where near what I have elsewhere.  I believe a particle solid is your best way to blend a wet dry.  You will just have to adjust cover to make it work.
