Title: Older Columbia Ball Question?
Post by: tloy on November 02, 2018, 06:53:27 PM
I am looking at an Action Max. Anyone know what kind of particles were used in this Ball? I want to make sure they are not the Tec particles. Thank you

Refresh my memory but wasn't the answer to Tec particles scotch-brite pads?

As far as I understand, the Action Max was a strong M80 reactive coverstock. TEC coverstocks where used on the late 90's and early 2000's Columbia bowling balls.

Probably has a small % of TecII and possibly a small % of another particle also.

Partnering with BASF, we developed a custom urethane system designed specifically to fit today's challenging conditions. We targeted a strong hooking coverstock with a continuous backend, so M80 was developed. This revolutionary reactive formula gives the reaction of particle without particle. Our new M80 coverstock will hook in heavy oil and create more midlane with a smooth controllable break point. Then, our R & D team went to work to design the new mallet core to release the power of M80.

From the bully product info. Says it's not particle at all, so it won't be tec anything.
