Suggestions on how to drill my action max?
« on: July 31, 2006, 04:02:12 PM »
hey guys,

I've got my Action Max recently in but has not been drilled up just yet. Although I do trust my proshop with drillings most of the time, I thought I'd hear your opinions on how should it be? I've recently uploaded pics of the balls that I'm using in my current arsenal so tell me what you think! thanks

Do you want it to hook more than the Action?

well thats actually the problem..I'm not exactly sure if I want to drill it stronger than the action. I believe my pro shop guy has been mentioning that he was going to drill it so it's b/w the Cobalt and Action but just seeing which decision is better.

hmm, the ball is made to be stronger than the action, so drill it stronger than your action or same drill

i've heard many reliable sources that say its between the action and that action packed.

Well, its between in stats, its up to you how you want it to be..

Post your arsenal - like so:

Example 1 - heavy
Example 2 - med-heavy
Example 3 - med
Example 4 - med/light
Example 5 - light
Example 6 - spare

just show us where you have each ball. and where you want the ball to fit in your arsenal.

- heavy
- med-heavy = action
- med
- med/light = cobalt
- light = zone classic red pin
- spare = target zone

possible balls to come out of retirement to get redrilled-
x factor deuce, original x factor, big time, and I've been having some trade talks with my friend for a tsunami/super scamp

with that being said bro - the action max is a pretty decent heavy oil ball - i would go with it there. Drill it strong is my suggestion. Sometimes a light drill in heavy can be sucessful, if you play straight up. The deuce could cover medium conditions.

so it wouldn't be a bad arsenal at all.

question: what conditions do you mostly see in a house shot or league?

Thanks for the advice,

Well since its not bowling season, the owner of my bowling lanes doesn't oil up the lanes that much and most of the time are burnt and light-med. If its a "good day", med oil is at best what I see. My plan for the Action Max is to use it for the winter (Leagues and the JBT's) and be prepared.
