Super night....Super Trooper
« on: May 03, 2005, 04:32:33 PM »
And I hate to say it here but Super Charge also(you know....that Storm thing).

A really good bowling friend of mine said he had one and it wasn't that much.

Well I thought about it and I thought well, I love my Panic, I have more hand than him, maybe the solid cover super Troop will go a little earlier and I'll start carrying where the Panic really doesn't in this house.(But it does where I bowl league)

Guess what!!!  Righto!

Started out with another smooth but strong core with teh Super Charge and then where the shot started to get absurd in the swing dept, I switched over to straighter.  The Panic flushed all day and couldn't carry a lick.

Finally took outmy somewhat strongly drilled Super Troop.  (Drilled 4 1/2 X 4 1/2 (pin above and touching ring).

This baby is smooth.  A five board move tothe left(from super trooper) and now on a small 13 to 9 swing this sucker on this strong backend shot(due to its superflex solid).  Covered some boards!  But like it says with no flip blocks it is a very smooth squaring up to the pocked to deliver a kapowzer!  But this ball can be played inside The panic and swung a tade and still carry.

I'm looking forward to cleaning a little tail now that we've turned the corner to another season!

Lucky Likey!

I don't think most folks understand how sweet the Super Trooper really is. It's way more than an entry level ball, depending on setup.

Interesting to me is why I haven't seen Super T on TV on pattern E by Columbia's guys.

Not high enough end?

As our pattern reminds me very seriously of the TV pattern E but ours is lighter volume and a bit longer.  With a christmas tree starting at 30 feet to 40 feet.

IN fact right next to me there was a guy trying to fit a Shock and awe into this shot.  NOt terrible but not as good as my Super T!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS I'd tried balls like the Tornado's and Dynamic groove on this shot(higher rg and even sonic boom (dull) but the Tornados and Groove are dogs at this center and the Sonic only works if dull.  Low rg and solid superflex do the trick.

I thought Barnes was on the show atleast once with the Super Trooper.  Don't recall the pattern though...

It was Patttern E when Barnes bowled Parker Bohn.

Barnes looked great when bowling Bohn with the Super Trooper, but I believe a 9 pin cost him the match. I think the score was 279-258...it was the El Paso Open, on Pattern E.

Update, tried this ball where the backends were not flying and it was a dog!

Weak 7-10s in the pocket weak 10s weak 7s.  Yuccccc.

Then I bowled in a tourney where the backends were big from inside but you needed length.  The par for the course was balls like El Nino Wrath Highly polished Ravage etc. (weak and high pins) One guy was trying to play outside near the hang spot and was all over it without much carry.  Finally as the backends really got flying he got inside and went 235.  Set 142 129 235.

Not the answer for all conditions.  For when you really really really have backends from the lane and you can play a small swing and carry.

Note on this same shot my Panic was no good either.
