Questions about the Action Max
« on: January 19, 2007, 08:04:11 AM »
Everything thing that I have read says this is the most aggressive ball in the Action line.  How much more aggressive is this ball compared to the orginal Action.

the attack fits very nicely between my Action Packed and Orginial Action. It would work really nicely as well between the Action Max and Packed

I also use the Action arsenal:

Max
Packed
Big Shot - shined up
Horizon Pearl

My Big Shot has pin under bridge, with cg kicked out alot.  I'm not too crazy about the reaction.  I shined it up after league last week, we'll see tomorrow night.  I shot 237, 245, to start last week, but she was rolling out a little bit.  So I switched to my horizon pearl.  Both my max and packed, have a stacked drill and react great.  I don't know about you guys but, Columbia works for me.  I am a slower speed (14-15) tweener, and the other companies do not produce for me.  Before the Action arsenal, I had the Bully arsenal, a few throttles, the icon line, and so forth.  Maybe its the midlane roll, who knows, but getting back:  the maxx hooks more than the other 3.  My packed (stacked and shined up) is great for my THS.  The Big Shot hits hard, but isnt as aggressive as maxx and packed.  My PBA experience starts up soon, so I'll let you know how the Action attacks the animals.

I recommend getting the Attack now. New stuff will be made by ebonite and won't be true columbia stuff

ok, tnx for the advice cfj... I know that ebonite acquired columbia about 2 or 3 months ago, and that they would be the one producing the next releases of columbia, is it a bad sign?? i mean does it mean that the stuffs would no longer be as effective, or as good as before... Does it mean that the coverstocks would be the same as ebonite's?? coz, I've been reading a lot about ebonite's coverstocks...it dies out very easily, despite the good/constant maintenance of these balls...

As I understand it they will no longer be using columbia cores and coverstocks it will be new stuff entirely produced by ebonite. As far as the quality we will all just have to wait and see on that. As far as the attack goes I still recommend getting one while you can. I even picked up a second NIB one for a rainy day.

The Action Max was a totally even arching ball that, not only is very readable, but very easy to control. The Action ( for me) was too much over under, shined, dull, which ever way I left the cover, but with the Max it is easy to throw.
