Resurgence Vs. Big Shot
« on: August 23, 2007, 04:07:02 PM »
Okay, here's the picture you've been waiting for. Resurgence vs. Big Shot. On the other topic that I've posted, the Resurgence is about 2-3 boards stronger than my Big Shot. Both played on heavy oil synthetic. Both drilled differently. Both out of box surface. I have only used the Resurgence (2 games) on my Sunday league. Can't wait to use it again for my Saturday pick-up league. It'll be 2.5 weeks till I get my Rival..

that's pretty much exactly how my big shot is drilled...did you throw it before the weight hole was added?  if so...much difference?

That's pretty much how I got the ball in the first place on my Big Shot. It already had a weight hole when I picked it up from my ball driller. The ball still a monster. I threw my Resurgence yesterday (Sat) on my pick up league and shot 254-221. I had to switch ball on the third game as the lanes we're breaking down, and the ball being to much. I will probably be using my Big Shot on my next league, being that I truly miss throwing it.

Don't need to be rude or anything;

But these 2 balls aren't even close in the way they roll ( IMO) The Resurgence is so much more ball then the Big Shot, for me the Big Shot is more of a down and in ball, where the Resurgence is by far a cross the boards kind of reaction. Both balls are easy to get down the lane, but the Resurgence rolls up so much quicker, and continues its roll all the way through the pin deck.

If your balls have the stock surfaces, that difference could have to do withthe fact that the Resurgence is finished with 1000 grit and the Big SHot with 4000 grit.

Just curious, is both you're balls drilled the same? I think that to has to be a big factor of why I'm getting the reaction from both balls.

Yes both the Resurgence and the Big Shot were drilled Identically, and yes I know that they are both of different surfaces.

 I dulled the Big Shot up to 1000 and by no means is it anywhere near the hook monster that the Resurgence is, and yes I tried it the other way too both at 4000, and again no comparisons.

 I loved my Big Shot, but I am more impressed with the Resurgence, it's continual move through the pocket is amazing

I have both balls out of box surface, and TOTALLY agree with you all the way. I'm glad I'm not the only one that still loves the Big Shot!!
