Resurgence @ USBC Nationals
« on: April 27, 2008, 06:19:21 PM »
Has anyone thrown the Resurgence @ Nationals? I hear that it is a heavy volume of oil so wanted to know if this is working before I waste a spot in my bag with one.

Thanks,

Wish I had that problem, the lanes were scorched when we were there, even in team event. it was a good thing I had my Wrath High Flush, cause even the Rival was too much

Since we are getting reports of people having seen both extreme oil and extreme dry I want to me prepared for both. I have the dry part under control but my most aggressive ball at this time is the Fury Pearl. Need something stronger just in case.

There arent many better true heavy oil balls out there than the Resurgence...still one of my favorites!  Very Controlable but powerful.

Now if you have an oil spill try this one

I used mine during the team event, played up between 10-8 to start and then moved into the track by the end of game 1.  Moved in more towards 3rd arrow by end of game 2.  Then had to change balls for game 3.  689

Britton, That thing should be illegal. Lol.

DanR, Thanks for the info. Think I will drill one to go with my Fury Pearl, Heist and Crisis Solid for Nationals.

Thanks again,

One thing to keep in mind, if you have any thoughts of rolling in PBA regionals, Visionary has not paid the licenseing fees and thus is illegal to throw in competition. Some brands are ok as long as you don't use them on TV, but Visionary is a no-no for any PBA competition. That has always made me steer clear of their stuff......it looks like good equipment don't get me wrong, but it's no good to me if I can't throw it at Regionals.

P.S. Britton, one of my pet peeves with videos on here, no mention at all of lane conditions. Bowling after my second shift scratch league, I can get an Avalanche Pearl to do the same as the AMB. No offense, but that is an important detail.

Also, I've noticed when I have drilled very aggressive, dull surfaced balls, they tend to hook a bunch until some of the lane oil gets into the cover and on the particles

Ahhh lane conditions such a wonderful term...remember one mans heavy oil is another mans dry...and one mans desert is another mans flood...i hate throwing out terms like "medium oil" cause what really is medium oil?  Anyway sorry for the small rant

The shot i threw that on was my THS i use for all my videos with a few games on it...not a flood, but not a desert. nice "medium" oil

Ps: if you can get your avalanche pearl to do that on second shift oil, try an AMB Particle OOB on the same shot, it will be in the ditch by the arrows

That sounds like a great Nationals lineup...i think you will find the resurgence and Hei$t complement each other nicely also...similar shapes, but the resurgence definetly will hook more...

Thanks! I have a bunch of other stuff I am throwing right now but I am not confident that any of it will work at USBC. I hope that drilling those pieces will give me some versatility and separation.
