The core of After Shock
« on: June 02, 2010, 09:23:07 PM »
Heya,

I've been searching all over the interwebz for a core-pic or a core-view of the Colombia 300 After Shock, red. Colombia themselves have erased all the old pics and they cant get em back.

Any of you got any clue of where I can find it?

It seems like any picture that may have existed will be hard to find. However, a picture of any core by itself can be very misleading. The reason is that it doesn't show the density of the material. The density will determine the weight distribution and how the core performs generally. I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

Even digging back to Columbia 300's 1997 website via the internet archive doesn't produce an image of the core.  The description is as follows though - THE MARQUISE-SHAPED DOUBLE-CONE ASSEMBLY CONTAINS TWO FLAIR-DELAYING CAPS AND HOUSES A QUADRUPLE-DENSITY SPECIALTY CORE WITH CERAMICORE

I don''t know if this will help you or not, but I had an After Shock, one of my favorite balls of that time.

The core as I remember was a smallish, generalized diamond shape. Not an evenly shaped diamond. Kinda like two cones sitting on the fat ends, butt to butt, but one cone was smaller than the other. Hope that helps.

P.S. It was a lot like a spinning top, that you would get in a Crackerjack box.

Wow! Thanks guys! The information provided by you guys where really useful. I really like the ball and will re-drill it soon and put it to some action. Its sweated and ready for some awesomeness.

If, by any chance, you do get hold of a picture of the core. Dont hesitate to publish or notify me.

If you want to pay for shipping, I have a 16lb in excellent shape that you can attempt to seperate the cover from the core.  I'm serious.
