The sideswipe solid was surprising to me out of the box, as a solid with 3000 dull on it, it gets through the heads very well, reads the mids well, and has a decent motion on the back end
very predictable
I need to change surfaces on it and give it a workout before I can say for sure its a keeper for my bag, but I like what I see so far

So after setting out earlier to replace my Arson Hybrid in the earlier, smoother roll slot in my bag... I've basically replaced everything else but that since.  :-[

Whenever I actually get around to doing so the Sideswipe Solid might be a really good fit for what I'm looking for. Don't want something with a too aggressive coverstock. Control, control, control for medium patterns. Still have my eye on a 900 Global X but this will be worth monitoring. Hoping there's enough interest in this ball to see some non-staffer reviews.

Fwiw my teammate uses a 900G X all the time and loves it! Super controllable ball that blends house shots and control on sport shots.

The new Side Swipe Solid by Columbia 300 is scheduled to release in your local pro shops on January 24. It is the solid version of the successful Side Swipe. It has the same Side Swipe core with the Bend-it coverstock, which is a great combo. I have used it for a few weeks now on various THS and on a few patterns, and it has nice early pick up, and hooks from every where. Great addition to your arsenal, especially for the upper-mid price point. If this is the motion you are looking for, don't skip this bowling ball...

The new Tyrant Pearl from Columbia 300 is set to be released at your local pro shops on February 14. If I wanted to make a bowler happy for Valentine's Day, this will definitely do the trick. This is C300's first Hypershock Technology pearl cover, with the very successful Tyrant core. I have used this bowling ball for a few weeks, and really see this has a benchmark and go to bowling ball. It will rank among my favorites, along with the Tyrant. It is very clean in the fronts with strong backend motion. For those who owned the Swerve F/x, the Tyrant Pearl is that on steroids. Definitely a must buy when it becomes available...
