weaker version of enhanced super flex resin ?

According to the web site of Columbia,hook rating of Messenger Ti Traction is smaller than Wicked.

In spite of being the same coverstock and almost the same dynamic properties.

Furthermore,surface of Titraction is 1200 degree smooth.

I think that coverstock of Messenger Ti Traction is "weaker version" of "enhanced" super flex resin.

This is entirely possible. Columbia often tweaks coverstock formulations without indicating such in their web descriptions. The Icon and the Icon2 are a case in point. They used different shaped cores but their specs were also very close, like they are here. But what they didn't tell you was the Icon2 had a lower load of the new Muscle particles than the original Icon. Also the shape of the cores in Comlumbia balls seem to make a big difference. The one in the Wicked B/R/T (I think it is very similar to the one in the Icon2.) seems to make for an ealrier roll and more overall hook. The result of the core difference and the potential coverstock difference can easily account for Columbia's difference in the overall hook numbers.

Besides, according to their marketing strategy, a Messenger MUST hook less than a Wicked. Whether it will or not is a question that can only be answered by buying them both & testing them. Isn't that Columbia's bottom line anyway?

By the way check the hook numbers between the Hyde and the Messenger Ti Traction: do they look close???

Yep that is true.  The same in most ball companies strategy.

If it is one of their premium balls it must hook more than their lower priced or middle price category!  Right!
Both me and a friend are hooking and killing em in the summer Him with the Wild, me with the Tornado.

Lately to get less reaction he had to buy one of their higher end balls!

NOte how many flexes are their anyway.

Super Flex
Super Flex II
Enhanced Super Flex
Flexcel
Muscles
Muscles II
Next reactive coverstock the Hulk.

Finally for the most hooking, The AHNOLD!
