anyone else see the show today where wes malott became the first guy ever to lose to a female (liz johnson) on television... it was halarious... not only does wes foul once and the show... but fouls in the tenth frame for Liz to spank him... way funny.... columbia needs some decent staffers out there... because that is just horrible representation....

Wes bowled really good against Liz, he just had a problem at the foul line. Don't run him down just b/c he lost to a female. I'm quite sure she would beat you too since youre not even good enough to be there! I would like to see him on the show more often. I just liked his style.

Wes was high on a few shots early in the match and then again on his last ball in the 10th, other than that he bowed very well.

This is what gets me, it was stated over and over yesterday on THE SHOW that Liz had all of the pressure on her. I am sure she had pressure just from the experience alone, but tell me there was more pressure on her to win and less pressure on the guys she was bowling? I don't think you can. For the most part Liz was not expected to be on the show so she had nothing to lose. Those guys were all expected to be there. I think they had the pressure on them. TJ won, but it was probably the least impressive of his wins this season and that could be because of the pressure he had to beat her in the finals.

I think he looks like a great bowler.

I hope this doesn't hold him back the mental part of this loss!

His game looks great!

It must be tough at that size to not take up the whole approach and then some!

that's just it though...he WASN't using the entire approach...why he didn't move back is beyond me........

I feel pretty bad for the guy - not because he lost to a woman, but because of the avoidable fouls. He seems like a decent enough guy, and something like this could be tough to overcome, much like Waliczek (sp.?) and his late open frames last year to lose a few times. It can't be easy to forget something like that.

It'd be really nice to see him bounce back and make the finals again real soon.

He should also work on a new approach that keeps him farther away from the line. I mean, why does any bowler flirt with disaster like that in the first place? Does being an extra couple of inches closer to the line make a difference anyway?

yeah wes is a nice guy and looks more like a nfl defensive lineman than a pro bowler to me...but what i like most about his game that nice push roll release of his...other players have it too but when you see him play live it looks like hes doing it in slow motion but in real time...and as far as him losing to a girl i really don't think its that big of a problem considering the fact that liz beat up on this years us open champ chris barnes and only set he wont against her is when he had to throw a 290 and a 300 game so i give her plenty of credit for accomplishing what she did...thats just the beauty of the game whether you throw 25 mph or 5 mph, a rev rate of 500 or 20, hooking the entire lane or directly....the name of the game is consistency and being able to repeat shots after shots...

does columbia make a bigger shirt than what he wore?...i know hes a big guy but even then the shirt was pulled out every which way....i was thinking the whole match that it looked like he was wearing a tarp for a shirt.

it was a good telecast, close matches(except for the fluffing jaros) is all you can ask for.

wow you people really take this stuff to heart... at the least the topic got some people to say something for once... anyways... now... the bartender... i dont care what wes is or looks like... and thats cool hes a cool nice guy... fact is... he screwed up bad on TV .... just wanted to restate the obvious and see what others thought... and obviously everyone here is a brown nose to him... so... then there is brunswick lefty... calling me a moron... thats funnny.... i love this forum stuff because it makes me laugh and is pure comedy... you all take stuff way too seriously... and need to have more fun.. so ya im bashing a pro that was on tv... i know im not there... but the fact is if your gonna be there look good doing it... and him losing to liz isnt that big of a deal.. fact is that he fouled twice and the second time cost him the match.. that is what i was pointing out mainly... and "you forum-puppet bandwagon brunswick fanboys" that is halarious.... and fact is brunswick rocks columbia period as it is... thats just life... till they get a decent high line they will be following... not leading.... i do have to say their midline is awesome.... but... back to the topic... take things a little lighter in here... its all for a good laugh... and thank you all for giving me one... :-D

I only got to see the show yesterday (Tuesday) for the first time...Canadian television...Doh!)

I thought Malott handled the situation very professionally and in fact represented Columbia 300 very well. It's something called "CLASS" which Sappire obviously isn't interested in by suggesting that Columbia was misrepresented.

I am sure that by handling the situation the way he did, containing his frustration and congratulating her the way he did he won the respect of many-including myself.

So if you got a chuckle out of it good for you but let's give the guy some credit for NOT swearing out loud or NOT kicking the ball return or NOT looking her in the face when shaking hands...Cause it takes a MAN to handle it that way!

Everyone is talkig about how a female beat a male . So what , it doesnt bother me one bit . I love bowling very much . The lane condition and the pins doesnt know if you are a male or female .Just bowl and knock the pins down . In a way we all have been beaten by a female . Just think when you bowl in league ,If you are the lead off person and the other team lead off person is a female .Even though it's a team sport,if her score is higher than yours ,in a single game she bowl better than you . Think about it .
