What does Columbia 300 mean to Bowlers?
« on: October 08, 2008, 07:40:56 AM »
I am a student at Vanderbilt College conducting a research project on the sport of bowling. I was told this site would be a good place to begin my research. What does the ‘Columbia 300’ name mean to bowlers? Could anyone throw out a few adjectives that describe the brand in general? For instance, a friend told me the Hammer brand was arrogant, aggressive and loud. I am looking for the same type of information as it applies to Columbia 300. Any insight would be appreciated!

BB,

I'm glad you can read,"almost exclusively" secondly  why would it be BS. I used them when I thought they were the best. Piranha's,Torqs,Cudas, Pulse etc. Urethane Era80's - Columbia in the upper crust of the market, Resin era 90's. Columbia, Track and Brunswick "Zones" were the top. Particle Era starts early 2000's Columbia catches a bad label with "Tec Death" some good releases some so-so, "lackluster". They take a shot to change the game and it is primarily a "Flop" with epoxy. They still have decent equipment here and there but nothing keeping them in the public's eye as much as some of the other companies "plain Jane". Again its my opinion.

Rivals and Momentum's are soem of the biggest sellers in my area and of the last 6 months the Momentum Swing is the most talked about ball along with the Noize.

To me, it means Ebonite. Columbia no longer make there own bowling balls, they sold it all away. As did a lot of other well recognized brands.......
