Resurgence, now what??
« on: January 14, 2009, 11:01:46 AM »
Columbia heads, I have a question.  Right now I have a Resurgence and looking to get another one.  Pin to PAP is 4E pin about the ring finger.  My PAP is 5 1/4.  I really like the reaction of this ball and it’s definitely my best heavy oil ball.  It’s really rolly and like the reaction compared to the Virtual Gravity and the Cell.  Not knocking the VG or the Cell, they are both great balls but the Resurgence seems to fit me better.

Now to my question.  Have any of you drilled up a Resurgence and a Momentum Swing?  How do they compare?  Do you all suggest that I get the Swing?  Please help!!

Thanks!!

Joe

The original Rival is a great ball and to me hooked just a smidge less than my Resurgence but was still very usable on heavier oil shots..

If you can find one of those NIB, I would snag it up..

If you like the resurgence I would drill up a noize. Same cover with boss core.plus its mid price

I was looking for a Rival but gave up and started looking at the Momentum Swing...

As for the Noize, the High RG is a bit of a turn off.

Thanks for the.  Can anyone add more??

The swing is cleaner through the front, a little less midlane and more angular than the resurgence. Both can be used on similar volumes of oil.

wait for the power swing
or maybe the next ball after that should be a heavy oiler

If I may throw in my two cents...

The Momentum Swing did handle the about same amount of oil as my Resurgence.  The main difference is exactly as Bluerrpilot said.

If you are looking to replace your Resurgence, then I would say to drill another one.  If you are looking to keep the same amount of hook, but achieve a different look, then go with a Swing.

Momentum Swing is a great ball, leave the cover alone and drill it identical to your Resurgence, you won't be disappointed.
For me it comes off the corner sharper than the Resurgence

Mrs. Barnes says the Momentum swing is the ball for fresh conditions and the Power Swing is for later!  She claims these things on the videos on Columbia's  website.

Anything she says I listen to as I admire her bowling....and SHE looks good saying it!

My hat is off to Chris Barnes....and watch the videos!  Informative
