I am a lefty and I track high as long as the plug work is rounded and done good, I have had no prooblems I have 3 or 4  balls I track over old righty thumbs like that picture and I hear no sounds and have no reaction problems.

I agree Jeff, it's not like the person is asking $120 for it.

Either way.. its not the brightest idea to put a plug in the track.

I know a few, no wait, a lot of stupid drillers around here that will do it too. The drillers around here have no idea what theyre doing.. Its getting ridiculous.

What makes you think the ball tracks over the plug?  Perhaps the ball driller knows exactly what he's doing and the track is no where near any of the plug work.

What's wrong with tracking over plug work?

I've throw a few 300's with balls with plug work in the track.  A good proshop will make sure it's round, and the amount of surface material you're losing is pretty small.  I still avoid it if I can, but if it's a hard to find ball, you can't be picky about the original drilling.
