Action drilling help requested..
« on: December 10, 2005, 12:02:38 AM »
The box specs are 3 1/4 top and a 1 inch pin..

I cannot do pin under drillings so I was thinking I could put the pin next to the ring with the cg out just a tad bit or I could put the pin right above the ring finger and let the cg be out. With that short of pin the cg will be pretty close to the ring finger as well..

Let me add, my span is only 4 1/8 inches and I use grips and a slug.

Which drilling would work the best if I am looking for a sharp break point type reaction?

Any comments would be appreciated..

Jeff,

Yes, I track very high and have tried pin under drillings multiple times and its always clipped the thumb hole, even with a weight hole..

Do you think the pin next to ring drilling would work OK? I know you drill alot of Columbia stuff//  Let me know what you think..

I would like to see a pic of that drilling if possible..

thanks..

I have never liked crazy pin placements as experimesnt on NIB balls. If they work, its great. If not, you have to plug and redrill a brand new ball and don't really like to do that..

I will probably go with pin next to ring and swing out the cg as much as I can.. I will ask my ball driller for some advice and see what he thinks as well..
