Serial #9P98783, the "9P" in the serial # confirms this ball to be manufactured in 1979. Columbia used the the last # of the year as the first # in the serial #, the "P" depicts the month this was made, Columbia used the Lettter "N" to represent the first month(January), skipping the letter "O"(not to be confused with "0"), so "P" is February and so on. The Yellow Dots were then again made in the 90's, but those utilized the letter "A" as the second digit which again confirms this is from the 70's.
