Recently every time I log on to ballreviews McAfee directs me to a warning page. Does anyone know why?
Thanks,
Barry

I would guess because things can be uploaded into threads and on eneve rknows if the pics, files, etc... are safe. Likely a precautionary message.

Barry,
I don't know for sure, but it could be related to this virus problem I reported a while back:

When the site was compromised, it made its way onto their Black List. http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/www.ballreviews.com

I use McAfee and have no problems. Make sure you are updating the files regularly.

TTforshort, It isn't a virus warning. A lot of the Internet security suites, track and report sites that can be harmful to your computer. When he visits ballreviews, he will continue to receive the warning until the webmaster contacts McAfee about removing ballreviews from McAfee's black list.

I also use McAfee and don't get the warnings. -- JohnP

The filters at work have completely blocked the site for the past two weeks. I made a post in the "general wonkiness" thread in the comments section, but the mods either didn't see it or didn't have any comment.

I just ended up overriding McAfee by clicking "visit anyway" when I got the warning. That is with the latest version of their antivirus.
Although the latest software update may be a little screwy to begin with since when I was on Google, I ended up getting the blue screen of death forcing a restart. Since that happened late last week, there have been no issues since I redownloaded McAfee online.

if you're blocking 3rd party ads, you will be safe. I was blocking ads, before the flap, and had zero warnings through it.
-
I'm getting the warnings also.
I'm seeing other stuff also. It is of concern. And I like the site and the bowling information.

I wonder if Ballreviews is getting like other sites and allowing pop-ups like Leaguesecretary.com causing the warning?

Please see me answer and link provided in my earlier response.

Is anyone at Ball Reviews doing anything to get rid of the McAfee warning about the site being dangerous? The message has been coming up every time I log in for weeks now. You would thiink that the folks who run this site would do something to get the issue resolved. Can we hear something frrom the Moderators about what if anything is going on?
-
This is the first time we've heard of any issues with a McAfee warning on the site. It appears to be related to the site advisor software that McAfee offers. We have contacted McAfee to find out why they have our site listed as dangerous and will work to have the classification removed. Google and TrendMicro are not currently showing any issues with our site:

There was a thread about this a month ago, thought it would've been addressed after that. Ever since the site switched designs I've been getting the McAfee alert also, but I just disregard it.
-
Yep, I found the old thread. That one is on me. I do think the issue is there because of the earlier virus stuff but McAfee should have automatically removed us from the warning list once that was cleared up. Either way, they have been contacted. Thanks for the heads-up!
