Even if you found an aluminum oxide sandpaper or scotchbrite that was the same grit the particles in that beast would chew through it before it chewed through the particles.

Tried resurfacing one of those with 400 grit and the sandpaper turned into just paper.

Sandpaper will only affect the resin; it will NOT affect the particles embedded into the resin. Trizact will affect both. So you shouldn't use sandpaper; you should use Trizact.

I've been up and down this road before; I've tried both.Trizact works because it's designed to work on these particles. They are significantly harder than the silicon carbide of wet/dry sandpaper.

I copied this from this forum a long time ago, hope it helps.

      A-35   35 Micron = 360 Grit  -  Green Trizact
      A-10   10 Micron = 1100 Grit -  Blue Trizact
      A-5    5  Micron = 1600 Grit -  Orange Trizact
Finest      -   White Trizact (not sure of grit)

I had my Fuze Eliminator in White Trizact Pad finish and loved the reaction. After some time I needed some resurfacing and applied 1.500 grit wet - but this was way too much surface, the ball would read the lane 5' earlier thane before and was recognizably more matte than the Trizact finish.

Later, I used a 2.000 grit pad, Abralon I think, of a friend with a spinner, and it gave back the White Trizact optics and reaction to the ball. Silky-shiny, good length and nice particle reaction in the wet/dry blending zone on the lane.

For the Brimstone Monster finish, you should try then Trizact pad or, alternatively, a simple 1.000 grit grey 3M sanding pad.
