I currently use Doc's Elixir and was just wondering if any one has any good or bad testimonials.

I believe that there are NO, I repeat, NO bad testimonials for Doc's stuff.  I have been using it for a year now, and when I do, it performs great!!  You will not find a bad testimonial regarding the Elixir, nor will you hear any bad things about its creator/inventor.

I don't like it at all, but my brother, IcemQuick is a huge believer in it.

I applied it to my V2 Particle, and the next time I rolled with it, no hook at all. It would just rev up and skid, no matter what. It was literaly a dull particle spare ball...

After a while, the reaction slowly came back, even though I didn't throw it much. Then I resurfaced it, and now its as good as new.

I experienced the same thing as LeftE on my Blueberry but not that severe. I had the Blueberry plugged and got the little more length and crisper backend that I was looking for. I then resanded it from 800 down to 600 and put on a very-very light coat of Storm Xtra Shine and applied Elixir and I didn't lose or gain any length, but I lost the nice crisp backend. The polish I put on was such a light coat that you couldn't even tell it had any polish on it. It still hooks good, but is now smooth and not as crisp anymore. I have Elixir on my Emerald and it has not effected that ball. It works terrific with or without Elixir.

Like I said, IceMquick, my brother uses it on every single one of his balls. He is a firm firm believer in it, and I can attest that his balls haven't lost any reaction.

But by the same token, he also used it on his Cherry Bomb, and it still died...

I'm a new Elixir user.  I purchased a new Big Blue and thought I would give the Elixir a try to see if I can make the ball hold up a little longer.  I threw two games with Big Blue before applying the Elixir so that I would be able to judge any changes in ball reaction.  I also applied the Elixir to my Blade Pearl which I have been using for 1 year and recently came out of the Ebonite powder-keg system.

First, there was no noticible difference in the reaction for either ball.  The coverstocks physical appearance did not change either.  I was shocked to see that the oil does not absorb into the ball anymore!  The rings of oil stay on the ball until you wipe it off with a towel.  The oil wipes off cleanly and does not leave a slimey residue or anything like that.  I assume that this will help to prolong the life of the ball and since that is what I bought the Elixir for, I am really happy.

Another note, my bowling center is NOTORIOUS for leaving belt marks on your equipment.  With the Elixir applied I find that the marks are much easier to clean off of the ball.  From my experience, without the Elixir these marks are caked hard onto the ball and I have to use my spinner and a stong cleaner to remove them completely.  With the Elixir I can remove the marks with Ebonite Powerhouse Engergizer cleaner and a towel by hand.  In fact, the way the residue removes reminds me kinda like when you get Elmers glue on your fingers and you rub your fingers together to get it off...it kinda bunches up and rolls off of the ball with the cleaner and the towel.

I must say that I am impressed so far.

I applied the elixir to my Vendetta Particle, Silver Streak Pearl and Sonic X. I have seen a substantial increase in pin carry, with added length and backend reaction. The elixir flat out works!

Although I hate to admit it, I was stupid enough to purchase this product.

Save your money.

I've used it for quite a while, on particle and resin balls, about a year I guess. The first thing I found was that it did affect my backend reaction. It made the ball act as though it were polished up, so you get a lot more skid. What I do is lightly and evenly scuff a ball, then clean it well, then apply the Elixir. That way I can counteract the unwanted skid by providing a little more surface ahead of time. Since I've used the stuff, it definitely repels oil, and keeps the surface of you equipment like new for a good long time. If you've tried it and lost your backend reaction, try this and see if you don't find what I've said to be true. It does work.

New Elixir customer - picked some up hoping to extend the life of a Fear Factor I just had drilled.  I normally clean my equipment weekly (vertex spinner - doesn't shake), in addition to wiping the ball with a towel after each shot.  I purposely didn't clean the FF with the spinner for 2 weeks (12 league games, 12 practice games) and very little oil came off the ball when I did.  It seems that the Elixir is doing exactly what I wanted it to, as advertised.

Shot 670-709-665-684 in the 4 league sets, so its not hurting the scores either...

No need to use a spinner to apply the Elixir.  Only need a small amount to cover the ball.  A 2" x 2" single sheet of paper towel is all that is needed.

However if you want to saturate a towel and use more of the Elixir that is okay too.

It just helps me put more money away for the daughter's college education.
