Ball Bath -Question about the Revs

Two things (Three actually)

After reading the posts, I decided to give my Apex Adrenaline a bath last night.  Scuffed it first, then put it in a 4 gallon pail.  10 minutes, wipe, switch water.  Did this 4 times before there wasn't a film on the top of the water.  I will try it in league tonight.

Second, I purchased an Awesome Revs to us on our house shot.  Too much oil to use.  Would it be wise to hit it with 4000 Abralon or not?  I have a Real Deal sanded that works ok, but I hate to change the surface on the revs.  Did anyone else do this?

the apex should work close to like it did out of box if you bought it new.  Is this house shot the only thing you bowl on?  If so, i would switch the revs to a 4000 abralon or 2000 abralon.  You can always take it back to out of box, so go for it!

Nope....Bowl traveling league, and tournaments, but I really don't have anything for the "wall of oil" that he puts out.  Ok to start, but when you burn it in, it gets SO over under.

4000 will knock a bit of the shine off, but the revs isnt made for heavy oil.

The revs isn't made for heavy oil...out of box.  Sand it to 400 or 500 and it will hook just as much if not more than the awesome hook.

isnt the revs around 360 with rough buff out of the box?

yes, most Brunswick made balls are 320-360 before rough buff or polish is applied.
