shine a ball

As for as I understand the usbc rules you can shine a ball but not sand during a match.  If so what is the best shine?  I don't want anything permanent, just a temporary lengthen.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

As far as I know, you can't just shine a ball. Most polishes are illegal to use "during competition" because they have grit in them which changes the surface.  You have to use the machine in every center, used to be a "Lustre King".
