Use for old abralon pads
« on: February 06, 2008, 02:09:58 AM »
Ran out of the heavyduty blue paper towels to polish some balls in the spinner this morning. Looked around for something to use and spotted a used up abralon pad in the wastebasket. Put some polish on the back of the pad and went at it. Balls came out better than they ever had before. The back of the pad appears to be very durable. Did 5 balls and  the back of the pad still looks great. One thing tho, make sure you have a good grip on the pad if the polish drys out as the pad takes flight.

Been using them for a good while now, for that . I cut an old sock, opened it up length wise and use it on the back side of the pad to keep my hand on it better.

I also cut up the pad, after the polishing thing uses the 'sponge' side up and use the 'grit' side to smooth out a thumb if I feel something I don't like. I have several in my bag for leagues, great to just lightly rub to get any glue residue off as well.

I'm cheap ! I'll use a pad for many things before it really goes into the trash.
