Jeff,

Seeing as you are the fountain of information on all things surface-related, I thought about sending you a PM.  But I thought others would appreciate this information.  I know on various occasions I've asked you about this but I never kept the information in one place, so here goes.  What's the effect on coverstock from the following cleaners and polishes?  Meaning to what degree -- if any -- does the surface get altered when you use them?

  • Clean 'n' Dull
    Clean 'n' Sheen
    Renew-It
    Hook-It
    Resurrection
    Black Magic Rejuvenator
    Power Gel Clean
    Secret Sauce
    UFO
    Factory Finish Polish
    Powerhouse Extender Polish

I used resurrection on my blackout today. It was looking pretty rough. Applied with medium pressure on my spinner for 30 seconds 4 sides and the surface looks great. Added some snake oil two sides with polish and then the opposite two sides with just water on the polish rag and it looks brand new. I will throw it tonight and let you all know how it goes. I've only had the spinner two weeks and already see the enormous value of having it.

Spinners are worth it. Every penny. Once you realize the value in having the proper surface, you'll wonder how you didn't have one before!

+1 more.  Also highly recommend a cheap DIY ball oven if you don't already have one.  My spinner & oven have saved me just a ton of money and time maintaining my own equipment and experimenting with different surfaces, and most importantly, all at my own convenience.

Wow. I like the resurrection and snake oil combo. Ball motion was excellent. Hard to like the Bkackout more than I did before. But the resurrection base is awesome.
