i just forgot some technique for sanding a ball , can anyone help me? i was told before that if i use a 600 grit sand paper vs a 800 grit one, the ball will hook 4 boards more, is it right? can anybody help?

wkf908, DEPENDS for one, and also OIL,BACKEND,COVERSTOCK,Synthetic or Wood Lanes
However a ball sanded at 600 will hook early on the heads and less on the backend compared to 800 in which will slide farther down and snap harder at
the end. This comparison thou in the case you questioned is very minimal depending on the conditions may possibly hook four boards but in my opinion that
would be max. (stroker)!

P.S. 10 in the pit will go into much more detail into this
subject! I Hope! (could he be wilson of TOOL TIME?)
if so I must be tim.

You just cannot say 4 boards when a ball's surface is sanded to 600 vs 800. There are so many variables involved that it's almost impossible to calculate, even if there were formulas.
A ball sanded with 600 grit will GENERALLY hook slightly earlier and slightly more than a ball sanded with 800 grit.
