Title: How do you polish
Post by: JohnN on February 28, 2019, 08:38:42 AM
Storm says take the ball up to 4000 and use step 2. Brunswick family says 500 and then compound or polish. Mo says 500-2000 then compound. Quite a difference. How do you do it ?

Yes to each of the steps mentioned.

It just depends on what I want from the ball and the conditions.

Storm factory 1500 grit polished surface as follows. All grits sanded on all four sides of ball. 1)500 grit, 30 seconds. 2) 1000 grit, 20 seconds. 3) 2000 grit, 20 seconds. 4) 4000 grit, 20 seconds. 5) storm step two compound polish lightly on both sides for 15 seconds.

this right here sums it up perfectly
No matter equipment brand or polish brand
I've used 500 grit with polish, I've used 500 grit with a Matte polish
and I've tried many surface preps and different combination polishes
All depends on what works for you, there is no real guide that you have to follow
Trial and error is where you learn the most about your equipment IMO

I don't use polish.

Using it less and less myself. When do usually use Black Magic which is more of a slip agent to calm a ball down.
