Cleaner for Pearl Particle?

I currently have a Threat that I have yet to clean since I purchased. As much as I tend to clean and maintain my equipment, this is totally unacceptable to me, however, I have a slight problem when it comes to cleaning. All that I have for cleaning equipment is Hook-It, which, no matter what Neo-Tac says, DOES dull shiny equipment. Is Renew-It a product that I should be looking at for this particular ball?

Renew-it is more of a polish than a cleaner. (I hate when they combine those 2 functions.) However, if you apply it by hand, it will probably act as a cleaner and not so much of a polish. There are many fine ball cleaners on the market. You can even use household degreasers like Simple Green and 409, but I still strongly recommend a product designed to do the proper job - a bowling ball cleaner. My favorite is Tenth Frame's Ultra Clean; other good ones are Storm's Proacta clean (yes, it can be used on resin and particle balls.) and Ebonite's Energizer cleaner.

in a conversation with Neo Tac a while back, they told me that ReNew it was a cleaner first w/ polish.  It actually has Hookit in it.  Anyhow, that's what they said, but yes, ...it will polish your ball slightly with each application.

A new NeoTac product is Liquid Nitro.....like an energizer/cleaner....sucks up oil, and leaves a nice tacky finish.

I've used Proacta Clean, on some of my regular particle stuff and thought that it was good, until I got Hook-It. Direct comparason of the two cleaners showed that Proacta Clean was totally inadequate to pull oil from the ball. Basically, I took my Freak, right after bowling a 4 game set, cleaned it with Proacta Clean, then went back to the same center the next night, bowled a 3 game set on identical conditions, and cleaned with Hook-It. The difference was night and day on the towels. Proacta did pull some of the dirt out, however Hook-It took out at least 2 times as much with less work.

I DID see someone mention mixing Hook-It and Renew-It in a 50-50 ratio, which I'm somewhat considering, but the bottom line is that I don't have a ton of time to clean equipment.. maybe 30 minutes a week, so I'm looking for something that's as effective as Hook-It without altering the polish on the cover.

Use the Track Magic stuff. Its called Clean and Polish. I use it all the time on my Threat and it works great. It works better than any other cleaner on the market.

For deep cleaning and some oil extraction, yes, Hook-It and Track's Clean & Dull
are better products than everyday cleaners like Proacta-Clean. Still, I think it's better for you and th eball not to use products like these on a daily basis.

In answer to your original question,
I was thinking more of an everyday cleaner, for which Proacta-Clean is very good. If you need to pull oil out of the ball after every 3 game league session (if that is what you are implying), maybe there are some other measures you might want to take to allow you not to have to use Hook-it daily.
My suggestions
- use Doc's Elixir to coat the ball and help prevent oil absorption and reduce it drastically.
- use a micro-fiber cloth to wipe the ball every time you pick it up off the rack.
- clean it after every session with an everyday cleaner.
I think doing something like these 3 suggestions would make overall upkeep easier and keep your ball in better shape.

That said, I do like Hook-it and Track's Clean & Dull for deep cleaning, maybe more of a once a month or once every 25-30 games, if I use the ball in heavy oil
conditions.
