500/1000, if a little too much 500/2000

I do 500 grit on 6 sides for 30 seconds each side, then 1000 or 2000 for 6 sides at 15 or 20 seconds per side.

Red Legend Pearl is 500/1000 + polish. Aggressiveness is in the eye of the bowler, do you mean stronger in oil or more skid flip?

Svstar34, he's probably looking for both, to pick up a little sooner while still maintaining that backend flip its known for.

500 + light polish is what I would try 1st
Powerhouse has a Clean n sheen polish that is on a few pieces, its a Matte polish that might do the trick for you as well
there can be a bit of trial and error when trying to dial in a "look" for you at a certain center

Will be a completely different look if you go that dull

I don't want to hijack the thread, but this may be the same question... When you dial in the look you want, how long should it last? I've heard everywhere from 3-6, 9-12 and 15-20... My Curse, which has the exact same issue/desire that DJ is looking for (and I'll be trying this solution) is 500/2000+polish, but only keeps the look for 1 game.. That can't be right...

Hey lefty50 are you saying that your curse is not performing the way it did when you first got it and that after you make an adjustment that it only last for 1 game. The reason I am asking is because I just ordered one . It seems like I had read a review from you on this ball and you said it was the best ball you have owned and that it hooked more for you than any other.

Yes, but let me clarify. I love the Curse, it's a ball I can put in my hand and know it's going to come back, so I'm still a big fan. BUT, after 15-20 games I decided I had to tweak the cover and make sure I could get it back to OOB. So far, it's not where I want it. The ball OOB was the closest thing I've had to a strong flip, what a punch at the end! Once I tweaked the cover it went to a strong smooth reaction. I need the back end punch. Now, to be fair, I've NEVER gotten a ball back close to the original reaction after I start screwing with the cover. I'm death to cover prep. This one, I've come close, getting it for 1 game, then it died out. Is that cover related or just demonstrative of me not yet finding the real solution? I don't honestly know. I keep seeing people say refresh every 3-6, 9-12, and I haven't gotten there yet. I keep trying though.

I think what you are referring to is on a polished ball most mfg. recommend to reapply the polish not to actually resurfacing. If I am understanding you perhaps you used a spinner and probably used a abralon pad and then reapplied polish. If you send Bowlingball.com an email they can tell you how to bring the ball back to the original. I appreciate you answering.
