Radical Ridiculous resurfacing
« on: December 20, 2018, 11:06:31 PM »
A friend wants me to de-oil and resurface his Radical Ridiculous.   Radical shows the oob surface as 500 Siaair -  Royal compound.  Since I don't have compound and have never used it, can I get it to the same surface using what I already have?   I've got a spinner and  pads from 360 to 4000, along with Snake Oil polish.  Any tips on what to use and the best method?  Definitely don't want to mess up his ball reaction.

Honestly to get close to the same surface, use a old 4000 pad with water and you will be close to the sheen that is given with the compound.

I agree. This is what I've done on my Brunswick pours that use compound

Thanks guys.  So, in this case would you typically go about 20-30 seconds on 4 sides with the 500 at medium pressure, and then hit it with the used 4000 w/water also on 4 sides at light pressure for about 10-20 seconds?  Not sure about how long to use the 4000 in this case.  Normally for some of my own equipment, I use 500 for 20 secs at medium pressure on 4 sides, then 4000 very very lightly for 10 seconds on two sides.

Buy a small bottle of Brunswck compound polish cost 7 bucks.
Problem solved, I would charge him for the bottle and keep the polish for the next time.

Personally I like the lower grit for shorter time. I do 500 4 sides light pressure for 10 seconds and do wet 4000 for 15-20 seconds medium pressure
