Can you use white pads to apply polish, and if so, is there a benefit to using those vs. a microfiber towel?

I have used a white pad to clean with clean and dull before, but I have never tried to use it to polish a ball. I would think that would defeat the purpose of trying to polish. Scotchbrite is an abrasive. I usually polish with a plain terry cloth hand towel. I put the polish on the hand towel and rub it in to the ball and then turn the spinner on and let it buff in good till it gets warm. Then I just follow up with a micro fiber towel while spraying the ball with water to clean off any residue.

Does anyone know where you can find the scotchbrite pads for sale. The only one I have ever seen is the green one in various stores.

I don't know if there is a Grainger in your area, but we have one in Lynchburg VA, and they carry several colors including white.

Parker Paints has both the white and the green ones.  Other paint stores also usually carry scotchbrites also.  I found the light grey pad and the burgandy pad at an automotive paint store.  I've found the green, grey, and white ones to best fit my needs for our THS.
