I had a hard time finding a surface for the LT-48 since I got it and thought about selling it. I Just don't match up well with brunswick.....but..

I worked the cover the other night (in hopes of) and finished with Lane1 Secret Sauce. The ball cleared the heads easy, responded well off the dry areas w/out being crazy quick, and held the inside. The ball gave me a bigger room to play. It also helped me win $49.

The only issue, the polish seemed to last just over 2 games on this high friction lane surface. I added two coats on the track side of the ball, but that wasn't enough. Is there a method to stretch the polish, to stay longer on the surface. Underneath was a light pressure 4k.

Also, the price for 4oz of this SS has gone up to $15 now. Is there a comparable polish to the SS?

A polish lasts as long as the roughness of the lane surface plus your rev rate allow. As far as I know, nothing can prolong that. More polish just changes the surface and you won't get the same ball reaction.

Secret Sauce is hyper abrasive. No other polish, in my experience, comes close.
(Brad, userid: bcwxxx, has used a polish for bearings called Monkey Jam axle polish, theoretically 60,000 grit (according to Brad) . I tried it but I can't get it to shine a ball like Secret Sauce does:

The inventor of Secret Sauce recommended that you sand a reactive ball no finer than 1000 grit when applying Secret Sauce. If you took it to 4000 grit before applying SS, then I assume you're probably closer to 6000 - 7000 grit range as the finish in your LT-48.

You have to re-apply polish when the polish is worn or you see the ball hooking early. No way around that, that comes to mind right this second.

It's a good product, from beans to lane1, still shines lol.. ops....

Though, the consistency of the polish did seem to change a bit after the take over.

Anyway, at $25 shipped for 8oz is pretty high per oz. but the SS gave me something that Snake oil and UFO didn't on this ball. I was trying many different surface set ups to make this ball work. I've used the two polishes mentioned and these two valentino polishes are my favorites. Both have each their purpose/uses, but the SS seemed to give me both in one?

One reason for the high price (I mean besides Lane#1's penchant for gouging the public) is that you need very little to give a ball a high gloss polish PLUS the pad you use to apply it often needs nothing more than a spritz of water to gloss polish yet another ball. Use a good pad like the back of a used Abralon or Siaair or Jost abrasive pad and keep it on hand with the dried SS.

Compared when I used the SS (beans) on my track slash and other solid balls, which had a "sharper, quicker" move off the friction, yes.... well, not reduced, well yeah...lol . just not the same as what I remember. It responded to friction fast but in a controlled way.

I actually played different lines/releases last night till the third game, both lanes were different. Right lane I was more off the back of the ball and firmer (speed) up the track. The left lane I was deeper, softer, and around the ball more. The ball didn't "jump" . it made the move and continued through the pins splitting the 8 9...

It was really nice...

Have you tried the Motiv Power Gel Polish or Power Gel Gloss? The polish is fairly inexpensive at $10 for 16 ounces. The gloss is a newer product that goes for around $40 for 32 ounces. I don't know anybody that's used either on a spinner but the Power Gel Clean and Scuff are pretty good so I would assume they are too. Don't think I would quite jump on the gloss at that price first though...

Not sure if this is a new Gel Polish or not. The Gel Gloss sounds new.
The old Gel polish was about as far from the Secret Sauce as you can get. While SS is extremely abrasive, Gel Polish was one of the mildest polishes I've ever used. From that aspect, it was good in that you could get all levels of shine on a ball that most polishes did not allow. But you had to really lean on it an use a good amount of polish to get what one would call a high gloss finish.

Maybe Gel Gloss has a more abrasive grit in it. I doubt if it is close to Secret Sauce, though, it being the only polish that can shine old time urethanes..

SS really puts a lot of shine in such little amounts and with less pressure.

Gel Gloss is definitely new. Motiv only had three cleaning/polishing products and this is the fourth. I think it was introduced before this bowling season, but I haven't seen anything about it since. Their site says it's rated as a 5500 grit compound, although I have no idea how that compares to others.

Thanks for the info about the Gel Polish. Motiv markets it as a polish/cleaner so I kind of figured it wasn't a particularly great standalone polish. Might be alright if you don't prefer a high gloss finish though.

I'll have to try Gel Gloss sometime in the near future. Some new products can be really good, especially when they sort of sneak in under the radar.

Seems like Motiv Gel Gloss is only available in quart size. $30+ is a lot to just test a new product, out of my own pocket. But I've only searched 2 places so far - make that 4. Nope, even Motiv's own web site says it's only available in 32 oz.

I purchased 3 bottles of Bean's (Original) Secret Sauce before the buy out several years ago ( I still have 2 brand new bottles left because a little goes a long way).
I really liked it at the time, but started to use other brands (Powerhouse and something else I ran out of), and decided on a whim yesterday to try the Bean's on my JoyRide. I threw it on the spinner with 500 grit Abralon, then finished with the Bean's Sauce, then went to league. Our league was cancelled due to an unfortunate event that occurred nearby (traffic fatality that shutdown the highway) so I threw a few games of practice with a few of the guys that did show up.

Now I remember why I liked the Bean's Sauce so much. It shined the ball up beautifully and brought it back to life. I don't know what the difference is with the original and the Lane#1 version, but I'm glad a have 2 more bottle left of the original.

I had purchased an 8oz Secret Sauce from Lane1 about 2 weeks ago and still havent seen product. Constant emails to them only yield responses filled with excuses and explanations on why they send product out WITHOUT tracking numbers. They explained if they spent an extra $1 for the tracking number, for every 100 orders thats $100 out of their pocket they need to cough up, and they are in the business to make a profit like every other company. I say No Problem Charging $300 for a bowling ball, but forgive you for not spending $1 for a tracking number on a less expensive item. I asked just for my money back so i could get this experience over with and they refused and said that they will send me another bottle out today. I dont know what to think.
