Storm 1500 grit polished surface troubles!
« on: October 10, 2018, 08:26:01 PM »
Drilled a couple new pieces this year. Rg hustle ink, and a new hyroad. Put my favorite drill in both. Pin over mid finger, I’m a righty, with a small cg kick. Loved my old hyroad, nice and smooth, controllable. New hyroad not even close. Having trouble with them. They just hook uncontrollable in the mid lane, and just keep hooking. Both balls roll almost identical. Heard other people struggling with this oob 1500 polish surface for fresh conditions. What surface adjustments have you guys made to this surface to make them more versatile? Anyone?

Take a 3000 pad to them. It will take the response time down quite a bit.

I agree with 2 handedrook break the cover with some surface 2k, 3k, or 4k surface it will help smooth things out and be more predictable.

Oh boy! A 1500polished post!! Let me speak on this!

It's the devil. Never use it oob unless you want to beat your head against a brick wall. Try 1k with light polish.

Thanks guys. I took my black ops down to 1000 and it’s a totally different ball. Did this to use the black ops for more volume. Love this ball now. Great for oil, also wet dry conditions. It’s my favorite piece now. Really didn’t want the ink, hyroad to hook more, so that’s why I haven’t touched 1500 polished oob finish. Like the idea of maybe 2000, or 3000 no polish. Think I’m going give it a try.

1500 polished is the worst surface in bowling. Just rename it over/under polished.

That’s what I’m getting, over/under. These two ball are useless right now for my league. Actually had a better reaction with my hyroad nano last match in league. Who would figure a stronger ball would roll better on a hooking house wall. Until the last game when it started to puke out.
