Title: Trizact pads
Post by: agroves on January 18, 2005, 05:50:52 PM
I know this has been talked about time and time again.

I am looking for the cheapest place to get some.  Help me out.

Andrew,

SInce this is not a highvolume item, you won't find many places selling no less at a huge discount. Besides these suckers last a long time.

I ordered mine from Innovative Bowling Products, which is mostly a pro shop supply place. I have yet to find Triact on their website, but they do carry it and it's on their order form. FWIW When I last ordered mine, a long, long time ago,I just called them and ordered a 3-5 of each and a CAB to hold it. I LOVE THE CAB, and I strongly suggest using it.

Here's their order form; you can browse their website, but it's not a normal internet shopping place:

In regards to the Trizact CAB - is it different from a regular CAB?

The Trizact CAB is basically the same as the regular sandpaper CAB. The difference is the interface between the Velcro on the CAB and the attachment material on the CAB sanding sheets -- with trizact, they're reversed!!

I talked to Innovative about this, but could not get a straight answer. It seems silly not to have a single generic CAB, and simply attach different types of sanding paper or trizact. Logic does not rule here.

On the cynical side, it seems a ploy to force you to buy two CABS in the case where you use both regular sandpaper and trizact. I hope this isn't the case. Regardless, CABS are the way to go. And trizact is a great material to work with.

Steven,

I don't know why they do it; they just do.
A lot of times I care about crap like this and I let it irritate the sh*t out of me. Other times, I deal with it and figure I'm not going to force them to be logical. Just go with the flow. Deal with what is. Anything else is a waste of time and effort.

charlest: It was only a short term irritant.

I'm actually glad this thread came up. I'm out of the trizact 35 micron CAB disks, and I need to order more from Innovative. These things are great for keeping the Lane#1 Super Carbide Bomb alive and strong.

Maybe they want to make sure that when you're using one, in the middle of a resurface, you don't accidently use the other???

mumzie: I hadn't thought of that angle. Preventing mistakes (and it could be a major one in this case) is a good rationale.

I bought a Trizact CAB and set of sanding papers.  I never used it because I got rid of the ball I intended to use it for.  I'd be willing to sell what I have.  If anyone is interested, let me know here or via PM.  I'm going home next week and I'll see exactly how many of each type of paper I have.
