Title: UFO polish
Post by: CincyBowler82 on March 02, 2015, 01:12:19 PM
Well I searched through a bunch of threads so I'm sure I missed it....I'm gonna ask anyway. lol So any of you who've used UFO, how did you apply it? Does it have to be done with a spinner and polisher or can you do it by hand? I want to try it out on my Thursday night league (the lanes are absolutely scorched for some reason) but I wasn't sure how to apply it. Or should I just take it to the pro-shop and have them put it on?

The instructions are on the bottle. There are no special procedures of which I am aware. I have always used it on a spinner, but the bottle does say you can use it by hand. Apply it to a damp terry cloth towel.

In my opinion,
Given the nature of UFO (It reduces overall hook and it reduces the backend, while increasing length), I must assume you're using it on your weakest resin ball to enable you to bowl on very lightly oiled, very dry lanes. So, based on those premises, you should sand this weakest of all your balls, to 4000 grit and then apply UFO.

If you're not facing the driest of conditions, I can only assume you using a normal polish like Snake Oil, to get more length.

Great stuff, although I've heard Innovative has some extender.I most my balls to 2000 wet/dry,polish with storm exxtra shine then add ufo.Its been a blessing. You can use it by hand or spinner(myself spinner) and it does give extra length, but I use it on all most my equiptment or I would loft the left gutter 75% of the time lol
